03 Jul Oris Carysfort Reef Limited Edition: Planting for the Future
In 2014, Oris began working with Coral Restoration Foundation™ as part of its mission to bring Change for the Better.
The name Carysfort is taken from the iconic Carysfort Reef, a coral reef in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary near Key Largo, Florida. Over the last 40 to 50 years, the reef has been severely degraded and coral populations in the Keys have declined by around 98 percent. But all is not lost. So far, the foundation has returned nearly 25,000 corals to the reef through its out planting programs, a figure that will rise to at least 30,000 by the end of 2020.
This is the third watch Oris has produced in support of the Coral Reef Restoration Foundation. Limited to 2,000 pieces and housed in 43.5mm stainless steel case with a bi-color ceramic 24-hour bezel. The bezel, which can show the time in three zones simultaneously using the 24-hour scale, is complemented with vibrant blue dial. The Carysfort Reef limited edition is available on an orange rubber strap with folding clasp or on a stainless steel bracelet. Each watch includes a special box and individually numbered certificate.
