Oris just released a new special limited edition paying tribute to baseball legend, Roberto Clemente who was also a 20th century hero. During his long career, he became the first Latin American player to reach 3,000 hits, and a passionate humanitarian. Sadly, he died in 1972, aged just 38, when a plane he had chartered to take aid to Nicaragua crashed. Oris is proud to support the Roberto Clemente Foundation with this beautiful limited-edition watch, and to continue the great man’s legacy.

For such a special man, and to reflect the work of such a special foundation, Oris has created the Roberto Clemente Limited Edition. Fittingly, the watch is based on an Oris icon, the Big Crown Pointer Date. The black and gold detailing is inspired by Roberto’s uniform, while the light brown strap and its double stitching reflects the aesthetic of a baseball glove.
